If you are interested in supporting our goals in helping these people, then please consider making a donation. It can cost as little as $5 to treat one child with malaria, so every donation is important and potentially lifesaving.
All donations via this website are safe and secure and 100% refundable within 90 days with no hassles. We cannot accomplish anything without your support, and therefore your satisfaction is very important to us.
Here are a few common questions about us and their answers. If this list does not answer all of your questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
1. What is the Chawda Foundation?
We are a medical charity that fights malaria by providing free treatment to poor patients, mostly children.
2. What is your mission statement?
The Chawda Foundation is a family-based nonprofit organization with global outreach that is dedicated to the alleviation of suffering caused by malaria.
3. How are you different from any other charity?
First, we are small and family-run. We started the charity in the memory of our grandfather Raghuji Chawda. He spent his entire life raising his family in East Africa. Through his hard work, he was able to provide for his large family, and he always wanted to be able to help more people who were struggling in the surrounding communities.
Second, our donations come from individuals, not corporations, other charities, or the government. We feel this is important to keep our focus on the poor, not the interests of others. To this end, we even cap individual donations at $500 per year.
Third, for every donation, we believe in giving you something in return. To find out more about our fundraising programs, please visit the Support Us page.
4. Why should I trust you with my donation?
We believe in 100% transparency not only in our finances, but in our operations as well. All documents submitted to the IRS will be available at our headquarters and also on our website for public inspection. In addition, if for any reason you are not satisfied within 90 days of donating, we will refund your full donation. On the operations side, the website will be updated daily to reflect all of the activities that are underway and planned in the future.
5. How will my money be used?
Your donation will be used to treat uncomplicated cases of malaria in patients who would otherwise not be able to afford the cost of the drugs. To keep expenses at a minimum as we start this charity, all positions within our charity, except the CEO, are volunteer positions. This includes the entire management team. The amount of money that is spent on operations, marketing, human resources, etc. will be listed on our website and updated regularly for accuracy.
6. Are you registered as a 501 (c)(3) charity with the IRS?
Our charity was formed in 2010. The paperwork required for 501 (c)(3) is in the process of being gathered and submitted for IRS approval. We are committed to obtaining this status since we firmly believe that it is a prerequisite for trusting the legitimacy of any public charity based in the United States. Since obtaining 501 (c)(3) is a lengthy process, we can only say we anticipate becoming registered with the IRS sometime in 2011. We will of course keep you updated on the progress through our website.
7. What if I still have questions?
You may find our contact details on the Contact page.
8. What if I change my mind after I donate?
Your satisfaction is important to us and is guaranteed. We will do everything within our control to gain your confidence and trust in our charity. Our reputation depends on it. However, if for any reason you desire a refund of your donation within 90 days, we will gladly comply, but we request that you please take the time to let us know how we can better serve your needs in the future.
9. Can I become a volunteer?
Yes. We could always use a helping hand. For more information, please visit the Volunteer page.
